Multiple trap types Create any combination of point traps, vertical and horizontal line traps, and optical vortices. Intensity and location can be specified for each trap. The HOT API contains built-in support for modifying trap locations, intensities, and types over time. |

Static and dynamic operation The HOT API can operate in either static or dynamic mode. Static mode allows trap patterns to be generated in a simple fashion on a frame-by-frame basis, and is ideal for applications that do not require trap configurations to be updated frequently. Dynamic mode offers trap-level control, and allows traps to be generated and updated at high rates. |

High-level Language Support Natively the HOT API supports C/C++, but support is available for any high level language that supports standard Microsoft Windows DLLs. Use the HOT API to create holographic optical trapping applications in C++, LabVIEW, MatLab, and other popular languages. Requirements The HOT API is intended for use with a BioRyx 200 optical trapping system. |
